The New Canal Lighthouse Replica is a two-story coastal residence in the gated Old Florida Beach community. Its square form and rooftop lantern reinterpret the historic New Orleans light on a larger residential scale.
The house was built in 1998 as an oversized replica of the 1890 New Canal Lighthouse on Lake Pontchartrain. Its interior combines lighthouse-inspired details, including a spiral stair toward the lantern, with the amenities of a modern vacation home.
The property is inside a private gated neighborhood. Access is limited to owners, authorized guests, and vacation renters; it is not open for public lighthouse tours.
The replica continues to serve as a private vacation residence. It is not an aid to navigation or public museum.
